It is about that time of the year that signifies the coming to an end of the year,the time when all that matters is family,new clothes,shoes,chicken and outings .Yes it’s the Christmas spirit all around. When I was still quite young I always looked forward to Christmas and the holiday spirit and all it held ,the decorations,the lights,the food but subsequent years,that i have actually sat down to view Christmas and all it holds I slowly started to see it all fade away and it is irrational to conclude that the reason is because we are maturing,we no longer look at Christmas as something worth being buzzy about. With the excuses of oh! There is a lot to think about,I can use my money to do something else other than celebrate…
Let’s journey back a bit who exactly are we celebrating? Yourself or the new born king? I think coming to the realization that it’s not about you but the one who left the 99 to go just after you then it would make sense at least. Mary went around looking for where to give birth to the new born king she kept knocking on every door I am carrying something bigger than me,I need a place to relaese it and everyone shut the door against her and the king of kings and the funny story is the creator of the universe became as lowly as being born in a manger [filthy, unsuitable],he could have come with all the luxuries of the world but No he decided to come simple so you can know that it’s not about where you are coming from but about what is inside ot you. Christmas spirit is not just about just to dine and wine, it is an assurance that something magnificent can come out of you,I see it as a yearly reminder that if out lord Jesus can be born in a manger and still do exploits,then no matter how wrong I got the year I have another opportunity to start all over right from scratch and still make a difference. Creating this content in a bus and I am laughing because I never saw it in this light.. As much we are enjoying the festivities in any little way we can let’s endeavor to plan for the next year now that a new chance has been handed to us let’s take advantage of it.
